Okay, I promised I’ll be updating the contest rules once I have the full list with the jury. Scroll bellow to read about what are the duties of the jury and about the way the 3 lucky winners will be selected. Yes, 3 winners! I received enough donations as to offer prizes to 3 lucky contestants
Also, a very important rule will be changed because we are now a SOUPER GROUP! So, you will have to be a member to be able to participate in the contest It’s not that hard, all you have to do is to push a button

Theme: NEW YEAR’S EVE PHOBIA! What does this mean? It’s quite simple actually: I want you to imagine an original scenario, to depict a phobia of your choice, and to place it in the frenzy of the New Year’s Eve.
(Ex: It’s new year’s eve, Nick is driving towards the party. Suddenly he realizes that his car is full of small, poisonous spiders. As the spiders start biting him, he desperately struggles to get out of the car…)
It’s totally up to you. Here you will find a very, very long list of phobias. However, I wish to ask you to chose wisely, as I will not accept an entry depicting Phagophobia – fear of swallowing, for example. Any pornographic material will be refused.

DEADLINE: The contest is starting today, the 3rd of December 2009 and will end on the 15th of January 2010.


Okay, so there will be a few simple rules you will have to follow:

• Only group members can participate. But don’t let this discourage you! Believe me, it’s easy as pie to join! All you have to do is to push a button, and voila! You’ll be a member and you’ll be also able to participate


• The entry must be new, this means submitted on dA after the 3rd of December.


• You must provide, in the description of your entry, the phobia you decided to use and the reason that made you chose it.


• There will be only ONE entry per participant, so think hard before getting to work


• ALL MEDIAS ARE ACCEPTED! This means you can send photography, digital art, traditional art, literature, sculpture, even stock! But be creative.
  
• The entry must not have the dA watermark over it. However, you can use your own watermark or signature, but please do not place it over important areas in your entry.


• If you use stocks, brushes and resources in your entry, provide a direct link to the original resource you have used. Please credit all of the stock providers and do not post a link only to the stocker’s profile. Your entry will be judged according to the way you use each resource. Also, the same rule applies for non-dA stocks: direct link to the original resource!


• Do not copy any other artist’s work. If you don’t really have your own idea, please post a link to the artwork that inspired you. We will take into consideration the way you played with the same idea. If you use someone else’s idea and don’t post a link to it, we will disqualify you.


• Pornographic, racist and xenophobic entries will be refused. However, nudes are allowed, as long as they are artistic and really express something.


• Judges are allowed to participate in the contest, but they are not allowed to vote for themselves.


Entries that disregard any of these simple rules will be rejected, so please read them carefully. I’m not asking you too much, you just need to pay some attention.


Sending your entry

The entries must be sent via note to my personal account, =skyleaf. The note must be entitled “New Year’s Eve Phobia Contest” and it must contain the THUMB to your entry.
Attention! If your note does not have these 2 requirements, it won’t be taken into consideration.


Judges

The judge team has the following responsibilities: once the contest is over, judges must go through all of the entries and chose the best 3 and arrange them in a top. Entries will be judged by originality, technique, correctness, usage or the stock resources etc. The judges will send me, as fast as possible, a note looking like this:

After I will receive all of the notes, I will be calculating each entry’s points, awarded like in the image above. The first 3 entries with the smallest number of points will be the winners!
